Polian on Jackson

Bill Polian provided some early commentary regarding #1 pick CB Marlin Jackson. ColtPower will provide more quotes and insight after Polian's official press conference at Colts headquarters.

Early comments from Colts President Bill Polian indicate that the Colts felt they had given up too many big plays at corner last year, both by not being aggressive enough against receivers and in successfully making tackles at the corner.

Polian said the Colts "hit the jackpot" as they were hopeful, yet unsure whether Marlin Jackson would still be available at #29. He said Colts officials sweated the last hour of the draft while they were waiting for their turn to grab Jackson.

Polian stated that Jackson would be "a blue-chip corner in our system." He went on to say he felt the Colts had successfully filled their greatest need with the player they wanted. He also stated that he expects Jackson to start at cornerback for the team.

Check back for more comments as we get reports from John Cimasko who will be taking notes at Bill Polian's press conference at Colts headquarters.
