Running back Vashon Pearson was added to the Indianapolis Colts practice squad on Friday. To make room for his addition to the 8-man unit, LB Chris Laskowksi, who returned to Indy back on November 22nd, was released.
Pearson, who was signed by the Colts this past summer after the NFL's supplemental draft, made it to the final cuts in September before being released. He outlasted former 7th-round pick Anthony Davis out of Wisconsin.
The Colts released running back Ran Carthon this week to make room for 2nd-year cornerback Von Hutchins who had been on the Physically Unable to Perform list. Ironically, Hutchins' activation helped bring his former teammate back to the Colts as both played collegiately at the University of Mississippi.
The Colts current running backs depth chart includes Edgerrin James, Dominic Rhodes, James Mungro, and Kory Chapman on the active roster, with Pearson as the sole running back on the practice squad.
