Seven Practice Squad Players Re-Signed
LB Chris Laskowski

The Colts got busy this week, signing seven of their eight practice squad players to the 2006 roster. They also added two players from their 2005 training camp.

The Colts have added seven of the eight players who finished the season on the practice squad to their 2006 roster this week.

LB Chris Laskowksi, WR Roscoe Crosby, WR John Standeford, CB Eric Hill, K Dave Rayner, OL Bo Lacy and C Mike Johnson will be staying with the team for the upcoming season in hopes of landing on the 53-man roster this fall.

The only player who was on the practice squad at season end who has yet to re-sign with the team is QB Tom Arth. ColtPower will be investigating his current status. Arth hasn't been provided with much opportunity to display his talent, getting only a couple of possessions of action in the final preseason game against the Bengals this year. He spent the entire 2005 season on the practice squad, gaining experience weekly as the scout team quarterback.

Two other former Colts, DE Justin Brown and WR Montiese Culton will also get another look this season. Brown was signed by the Colts back in April as an undrafted free agent out of East Central University (OK), but was released on September 3rd.

During his senior year, Brown was named to the American Football Coaches Association All-American team. He was the Lone Star Conference North Division Defensive Lineman of the Year, posting 72 tackles and 12 sacks.

Culton was also signed back in April as an undrafted free agent out of Tulsa. He was waived in the first round of roster cuts on August 30th, but was re-signed with the initial group of players selected for the practice squad. But Culton was bounced off the practice squad during the season on November 3rd to make room for the return of WR Roscoe Crosby. Colts.com reported that he was placed on the reserved/injured list with a foot injury, but he wasn't listed on their injured reserve list at their website.

Correcting a report from earlier this week, ColtPower mentioned DE Javor Mills as one of three players who had reportedly re-signed with the team, along with LB Nick Hannah and TE Joey Hawkins. Mills finished the season with the Colts on injured reserve, and had actually signed a two-year deal contract with the team. So he is expected to return, but did not have to re-sign with the Colts.
