Former Memphis defensive end Marcus West has signed on with the Colts as an undrafted free agent according to one of our sources.
West, who battled injuries early in his career, established himself as an
incredibly quick defensive end who gained the respect of his teammates and was
named as one of the team captains in 2005. But season-ending injuries to the
Memphis defensive line eventually forced them into a two-man front as the season
wore on, and some have speculated that the situation may have hurt West's stock
since NFL scouts weren't able to observe him in a more traditional role. That
may have very well caused him to have been overlooked -- until now.
The 6-foot-4, 260-pound lineman has been recognized for his outstanding
sportsmanship and his community service. Over the past two seasons, he logged
14.5 sacks and 95 tackles.
The addition of West has an interesting twist, and
we've got more information on his background and skills for our ColtPower
