Colts Waive Nyenhuis, Killion

With the Colts in need of a kicker and a punter for this weekend's game against the Seahawks, roster slots are at a premium. On Thursday, the Colts made a decision that cleared two spots on the roster.

ColtPower has learned that the Indianapolis Colts have waived defensive lineman Gabe Nyenhuis and rookie linebacker Kyle Killion. Both players were placed on the injured/reserve list earlier this week, but the team has reached an injury settlement with both players according to one of our sources close to the NFL.

Nyenhuis recently suffered a groin injury. He was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Seahawks out of the University of Colorado back in 2003, but then joined the Jaguars practice squad after he was cut towards the end of camp by Seattle. Last year, he spent the summer in the Falcons training camp before joining the Colts' practice squad.

Killion was an undrafted rookie free agent who was signed right after this year's NFL Draft out of the University of Indiana. Last week, during the preseason opener against the Rams, he sustained a hamstring injury.
