Colts Release Two More

ColtPower has learned that the Indianapolis Colts have released two more players, an undrafted rookie from the offensive line, and a safety who was just recently moved to the team's injured reserve list.

The Indianapolis Colts continued to trim their roster on Thursday as they move toward Saturday's mandatory cutdown to 53 players. On Sunday, the team can form an eight-man practice squad.

Undrafted free agent Daniel Federkeil was waived according to a report issued by the team. The 6-foot-7 rookie offensive lineman was a four-year starter at defensive tackle for the University of Calgary. So in addition to attempting to make the leap to the pro level, he was also working at a position where he had limited experience.

ColtPower has learned that the team has also waived safety Chris Laskowski after reaching an injury settlement with him. The team had previously put him on waivers and moved him to their injured reserve list, ending his season but keeping him with the team. The reversal of that decision by reaching an injury settlement with him instead is a bit curious since he didn't count against the roster limit.
