On the team's confidence:
"We all understand we have some problems we have to fix. There are a lot of teams that would like to have our record regardless of the situation. We have to turn things around, we have to get hot. We've won nine straight before, 10 straight, 11 straight before. Now it's time for us to win this game coming up hopefully and continue it in
On Peyton's comments about the defense after last week's game:
"Well, we understand we might have some younger guys that still have some things to learn and at the end of the day, it's all about everybody being accountable, everybody doing what they need to do to win the game and playing at that game speed like it's a playoff game. There is a noticeable difference between September ball and October,
November, December, January if you turn on the games on TV, so definitely there needs to be a reality check for some guys out there, that they need to have some urgency in the games like it's a playoff game.
On the run defense:
That's what we're talking about the intensity of the game. This is December, January ball which means we have to pick it up a level. Maybe things that people got away with in the early part of the year, you can't get away with now. It's all about being a little more intense, fighting a little bit harder.
On losing Bob Sanders:
It hurts a lot. I don't know how many teams in the National Football League has lost two of their starting safeties and are playing with basically their third-string safeties. Not only is it
Bob, who is a Pro Bowl player, but you had Mike Doss, who was a run-stopping safety who got Pro Bowl votes last year. We go two Pro Bowl
caliber guys in the back that aren't there so obviously there needs to be some room for improvement and guys need to step up which I
believe that they will. I believe it has to be done now.
