Indianapolis selects Ugoh in second round

Posted Apr 28, 2007

Colts trade 2008 first-round pick and 2007 fourth-round pick to acquire Arkansas offensive tackle Tony Ugoh.

The Colts pulled a big move on Day 1 of the 2007 NFL Draft, trading away their first-round draft pick in 2008 and a fourth-round pick in 2007 for the San Francisco 49ers' No. 42 pick to select Arkansas offensive tackle Tony Ugoh.

With current Colts' left tackle Tarik Glenn's contract expiring at the end of the 2007 season, Indianapolis may have plans for Ugoh to start in the near future.

Ugoh was an All-American offensive tackle who started all 14 games for the Razorbacks during his senior season in 2006, allowing only one sack.

At 6-foot-5, 301 pounds, Ugoh is an athletic pass blocker and was a major cog in the Razorbacks' rushing attack, which was tops in the SEC in 2006.

Ugoh was a two-sport athlete at Arkansas, also participating with the track team in discus and shot put.

Named to the 2003 SEC Academic Honor Roll, Ugoh majored in administrative management.
