PASSING OFFENSE: B
QB Peyton Manning didn't have one of his great games, but it wasn't terrible either. Manning completed 22 of 31 passes for 299 yards and one touchdown. He threw two interceptions. That's the bad news. But he wasn't sacked, and he was only hurried one time. Manning completed passes to six different receivers. WR Reggie Wayne hauled in seven passes for 89 yards, while WR Pierre Garcon added six catches for 108 yards. TE Tom Santi had six catches for an additional 80 yards.
RUSHING OFFENSE: B-plus
RB Joseph Addai ran for a season-high 74 yards on 19 carries, including a season-long 21-yard run. As a team, the Colts had 76 yards on 25 rushing attempts. Admittedly, the numbers aren't great, but they were certainly good enough to move the football when it was needed the most. Addai had a 5-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, faking Ravens LB Ray Lewis out of his socks near the goal line.
PASS DEFENSE: B
Baltimore QB Joe Flacco connected on 23 of 35 passes for 256 yards. WR Derrick Mason had nine catches for 142 yards. RB Ray Rice added seven receptions for 64 yards. The Colts did not record a sack for the first time this season and didn't have any quarterback pressures. Indianapolis did come up with a big game-saving interception late in the fourth quarter by LB Gary Brackett. The Colts also broke up eight passes in the game, including an end-zone deflection by S Melvin Bullitt.
RUSH DEFENSE: B-plus
Rice had 71 yards rushing on 20 carries. RB Willis McGahee added 25 yards on six carries. The Ravens had 98 yards rushing as a team on 31 total running attempts. Indianapolis came up with a big goal-line stand early in the fourth quarter, shutting down the Baltimore running game and forcing the Ravens to settle for a field goal.
SPECIAL TEAMS: B-plus
Pat McAfee averaged 40 yards, 36 yards net, on three punts. He also had one punt downed inside the Ravens' 20-yard line. McAfee had one touchback on kickoffs. PK Matt Stover connected on what proved to be a game-winning 25-yard field goal with 7:02 remaining in the game. KR Chad Simpson averaged 20.5 yards on four kickoff returns, including a 34-yard return in the fourth quarter that helped set up the Colts' game-winning field goal drive. PR T.J. Rushing had one return for 2 yards and one kickoff return for 14 yards. Baltimore averaged 26.3 yards on three kickoff returns and 6 yards on two punt returns. The Colts also recovered a fumble on McAfee's final punt of the game, LB Freddy Keiaho coming up with the ball after Baltimore S Ed Reed tried to lateral to a Ravens teammate.
COACHING: B-plus
Jim Caldwell is the first rookie head coach in the NFL to begin his career with a 10-0 record. The Colts have won their last four games by a combined total of 10 points. Caldwell has proved that he belongs as a head coach in the NFL and that he hasn't been cowed by the long shadow of former Colts coach Tony Dungy. He has proved to be his own man and hasn't been averse to taking chances when the situations present themselves.
