Indianapolis head coach Tony Dungy was interviewed by NFL Sirius Radio on
Monday's "Movin' the Chains" show regarding the current state of the
Colts following Sunday's loss to the Jaguars. And Sirius has teamed up with
Scout.com and ColtPower so that we can share it with our fans!
Colts head coach Tony Dungy was interviewed on NFL
Sirius Radio on Monday and he talked about the need for his team to find
their resolve this week as they prepare for the final three games of the regular
season.
"We've been better, but what we have to do is get ourselves ready to go
these last three weeks and get back on track. We've fallen off the track a
little bit, but we can get back up on there," he told hosts Bob Papa and
Jerry Rice.
The Colts, who hold a 10-3 record and are one game from clinching the AFC South,
have lost three of their last four games. But Dungy shared this perspective.
"Other teams have been through this. Some teams have been through it
already, some teams are going through it right now," he said.
"Cincinnati went through it, the team we're getting ready to play, they had
two games back-to-back where they gave up over a thousand yards. And they got it
fixed and they're playing excellent defense right now."
When asked if he is getting pressure from his assistants to make sweeping
personnel changes or other types of changes, he replied, "There are a lot
of traps that way you can fall into."
In this eight-minute audio, you'll hear Dungy talk about the combination of
mental and physical errors that were made on Sunday against Jacksonville. And
he'll tell you the point in the contest where he felt the game really changed
for the Colts. Find out how he plans to handle the demoralizing impact of the
loss with his players and what they'll need to pull themselves out of it, his
thoughts on Marvin Harrison joining the 1,000 receptions club, and much more in
this terrific interview.
