Leitko Added, McFarland to IR

The Colts added a former Notre Dame defensive lineman to the roster on the same day that they moved veteran defensive tackle Anthony McFarland to injured reserve.

Former Notre Dame defensive lineman Travis Leitko has been signed by the Indianapolis Colts as the team moved veteran defensive tackle Anthony McFarland to the injured reserve list following his surgery to repair a torn patella tendon.

And while some media sites are reporting that Leitko is a defensive end, Leitko is more likely to get a look from Indianapolis primarily as a defensive tackle.

The 6-foot-6, 273-pound lineman has a number of strong attributes that undoubtedly drew the Colts attention, despite his recent release by the Baltimore Ravens. Watch for Jerry Langton's full Scouting Report on Leitko in the coming days here at ColtPower.com.

While Leitko isn't likely the answer to Anthony McFarland's vacancy, he could provide some depth while potentially adding some immediate impact to the Colts' special teams units, an area in which he excelled for the Fighting Irish.
